      Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences (SUAS) is a well-known public university in Germany whose predecessor, established in 1902. With a history of more than 100 years, it has long focused on the development and research in mechanical manufacturing. It is one of the first-batch national universities in Germany recognized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and belongs to . Founded in 1902, the former Royal Technical College for Iron and Steel Industry Schmalkalden was jointly funded and expanded by the German Federal Government and the Turingia Government in 1991, joined FH and renamed Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences.

        The university has five major faculties: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Business and Economics and Business Law. The university is located in Landkreis Schmalkalden-Meiningen, southern Thuringia. With five faculties of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Business and Economics and Business Law, SUAS is an international university dominated by electrical information and mechanical automation.

It offers 16 bachelor and master's majors, including Applied Synthetic Materials Science, Electricity and Automation Technology, Information Technology, Informatics, IT-Service Management, Multimedia Marketing, Business Informatics, Economic Engineering, Economic Law and Business and Economics in Bachelor programs. The master's majors include International Business and Economics, Business Law, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Media Processing and Exchange Services, etc.
