Thomson Rivers University was established in 1970. Located in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, it is a new public university. It covers an area of 250 acres, and is about 365 kilometers from Vancouver with a three-hour drive.
It was formerly known as Cariboo College, founded based on some mergers in the 1970s, and then upgraded to University College of Cariboo in 1989. Its undergraduate education is recognized by students and the educational community, and is highly recognized by the government of British Columbia and the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, so it obtained the present name in 2005. It offers more than 100 academic and professional courses, and currently has more than 10,000 students, including more than 800 international students from 53 countries and regions.
