Coventry University is located in the city of Coventry, UK. It is the 12th top university in the 2018 university league tables released by the Guardian. Its predecessor is the Coventry College of Design established in 1843. With more than 100 years of merger and development, it was officially renamed Coventry University in the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 promulgated by the British government led by Sir John Major in 1992. In the latest UK’s Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) in 2017, Coventry University won the Gold Award, the highest honor therein. TEF is an important indicator for evaluating teaching quality.
