College introduction

Karlsruher Institut für Technologie in German, KIT) is located in Karlsruhe, a famous German-French border city. It is recognized as one of the leading universities of science and engineering in this country, and also a world-renowned research university in the fields of natural sciences and engineering technology, known as the MIT of Germany. Its alumni and professors include Heinrich Hertz, the discoverer of electromagnetic waves, Otto Lehmann, the father of liquid crystal, Fritz Haber, the father of synthetic ammonia, Edward Tellor, the father of hydrogen bomb, Hermann Staudinger, the father of polymer chemistry, Karl Benz, the father of automobile, and other world-renowned scientists, entrepreneurs and social figures.

Cooperative program: Every summer, students from KIT come to Xi'an, China, for summer courses on intercultural communication at Xi'an Eurasia University. German students explore ancient Chinese culture in Xi'an and learn about the latest China with teachers showing them China's new "Four Great Inventions". Academic classes are also arranged for Chinese and German students and teachers to exchange academic experience and learn Chinese.
