Malaysia University of Science and Technology (MUST), located in Petaling Jaya, on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. After a visit to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1995, the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his delegation decided to establish a university in Malaysia based on the MIT model, and an agreement to establish MUST was signed in January 1997 to finalize the establishment of the university.
MUST holds the International Quality Management System Certificate (ISO 9001:2000), and the degrees it issues are recognized by the Ministry of Education and the National Accreditation Board (LAN). The university was recognized by the Ministry of Education of the PRC as one of the first batch of recommended institutions on the Foreign-related Education Supervision Network of the Ministry of Education of the PRC (ISO international certification and Embassy of the PRC certification are available on the Foreign-related Education Supervision Network of the Ministry of Education of the PRC).
