"The ethereal, foreign and high standard chorus is unbelievable..." Last night's WeChat friends circle, many Xi'an music fans who listened to the Eurasian New Year concert, praised the New Year music feast with sincere words.

This year is the first time for Eurasia to hold a New Year's concert, and also the first time for the Eurasian choir to step onto the stage of Xi'an Concert Hall. We will give them applause again, and share with you the touching moment of the New Year concert, and listen to the voice of the choir's growth.

Return: Non professional teams sing the most beautiful harmony on the stage of the concert hall

Linda, an English teacher who came from Chanba to listen to the concert, told herself, "Don't dare to fall asleep.". What she couldn't believe was that she listened to 18 songs of different styles carefully after 2 hours of non-stop performance.

Linda said that what shocked her was not only the concert itself, but also the students from the Eurasian choir. They did not come from music related majors. They were united in the Eurasian choir only because of their love for music.

On the stage, 52 students of the choir, together with Li Qiang, the specially invited conductor, Wang Kai, the art director, and Bai Meng and Zhao Xun, the two guest performers, presented this high-level special New Year's concert with multi language and multi style repertoire to 1100 audience.

"Beside Lake Baikal", "Big Fish", "The Seal lullaby", "Mo け", "Kaming Mag Ma Ma No"... When these Chinese and foreign classics were sung by students in Chinese, English, Japanese and even Filipino dialects, each song had a free melody, but under the resonance of harmony, they blended into a soft, light, harmonious and changeable movement. It is worth mentioning that, as the original song of the art troupe, the Silk Road Breeze also made a wonderful debut in this concert.

After the formal singing, the applause on and off the stage was still endless. Unable to resist the warm invitation of everyone, Li Qiang, the specially invited conductor, returned to the stage again and, together with the students of the choir, performed two songs in succession, "The Joy of Snowflakes" and "You raise me up". With the light snowflakes and intoxicating syllables, the New Year concert reached its climax.

Moved: Tears for more than half a year of hard rehearsal, harvest growth and love

Lei Qichen is a sophomore of the Eurasian Institute of Culture and Media and an old member of the Eurasian Choir. When the prelude of the last return track "you raise me up" sounded, she couldn't help crying when she sang on the stage.

You raise me up, a familiar piece of music, is often sung on important occasions such as the opening ceremony and graduation ceremony in Eurasia, which is of special significance to every member of the art troupe.

"At that moment, when I thought of this song accompanying the growth of many seniors and sisters in the art troupe, I remembered many scenes of rehearsals and performances with seniors and sisters. Those memories hit my heart instantly, and my tears could not stop rolling." Lei Qichen said.

After the performance, President Hu Jianbo took a group photo and talked with his classmates on the stage. Everyone was very red eyed, and others were sobbing. They are proud of their performance in such a professional concert hall, moved by their singing, and tearful for the hard rehearsal for more than six months.

Teacher Li Qiang introduced that he was invited to Eurasia in May 2017 to guide the rehearsal of the choir. From the identification of the staff to the contact with choral songs in various national languages, it is conceivable that it is difficult for these students from communication engineering, international trade and other majors. However, we overcame all kinds of difficulties. Last July, we participated in the first Xi'an International Chorus Festival and Xi'an International Chorus Congress, won the first prize, and were also praised by Dr. Craig Jessop, Dean of the Art School of Utah State University and Music Director of Xi'an International Chorus Festival, which further ignited the students' desire to hold a New Year's concert.

"The real love is to move yourself in singing, which naturally moves the audience," said President Hu Jianbo. Their singing voice was simple and warm, and their hearts were full of "pure hearts". The audience was moved to tears.

"I didn't expect that they could really hold a professional concert here!" Li Qiang said with such admiration to the audience. "Harmony but difference, outstanding" is also his best evaluation and expectation of the choir students.

Wish: Look forward to Eurasia's own concert hall and wish everyone can sing

When the famous director Gao Xiaolong came to visit Eurasia in March 2017, he praised the Eurasian campus with artistic style in this way: "The architectural language is simple and modest, without exaggeration or publicity, and the relationship between all visible things is harmonious, without being abrupt or stiff."

As Mr. Li Qiang, the specially invited conductor of the New Year concert, said, architecture is solidified music, while music is flowing architecture and color. The campus with international taste and artistic atmosphere in Eurasia promotes the aesthetic and artistic taste of Eurasians, and also becomes the best place for Li Qiang to inspire everyone's musical thinking.

A few days ago, when it was snowing in Xi'an, the choir was rehearsing the song "The Joy of Snowflakes". Li Qiang led his classmates to look for the fragrance of cinnabar plum in Xu Zhimo's works in the snow on campus, and the flying and elegant artistic conception in his poems. We touch the symphony of music and soul in rehearsal to discover and feel the charm of art.

In the future, Eurasia will build a high-level professional concert hall in China, focusing on serving Xi'an music culture, which is a great success for President Hu Jianbo at the performance site. Hearing the news, the students of the choir jumped up happily, and the audience also heard expectant applause.

"People must cherish certain beliefs, hold certain dreams and hopes, have rainbows, have songs to sing, and have noble things to devote themselves to." This is the words of John Dewey, an American educator, and is also the New Year's blessing given to everyone by the Eurasian New Year concert.
