School of Human Settlements and Civil Engineering

The School of Human Settlements and Civil Engineering, formerly the School of Architectural Engineering, was established in 2003 as a second-class school of Xi'an Eurasia University. The School offers four undergraduate programs, namely Intelligent Construction, Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, and Engineering Cost, along with one micro-program in Drone Application Technology. Additionally, there are bilingual classes for Engineering Cost and the International Class for Silk Road Infrastructure. Currently, the School has 1,539 students and employs 60 full-time faculty members, 40% of whom hold associate senior or higher titles.

The School upholds the Party's leadership, follows the socialist orientation in education, implements national education policies, and prioritizes moral education. Guided by an employer-oriented, student-centered approach, it restructures curricula, integrates industry with education, and promotes interdisciplinary practice to implement project-based teaching. Shifting the focus of talent cultivation from traditional engineering education to the emerging field of "AI + Engineering", the School integrates technological innovation with humanistic literacy to nurture application-oriented innovators with both professional expertise and cross-disciplinary vision.

The School has established in-depth industry-academia partnerships with leading Chinese and international enterprises, including Fortune 500 company BlueScope, as well as state-owned giants such as China Railway Group and Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group Corporation. Through platforms like project-based learning, customized training classes, studios, and industry-academy collaborations, students gain hands-on experience in real-world engineering environments, significantly enhancing their practical engineering skills. Additionally, the School actively expands into overseas infrastructure markets, partnering with companies like China State Construction Engineering Corporation, Shan Hai Map, and Xi'an Shangong International Construction Engineering Limited Company to facilitate high-quality international internships and employment opportunities for students. Over the past two years, more than 40 students have secured positions in regions such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

New Engineering Education:

Integrating Engineering with Humanities and Business to Cultivate Innovative Engineers Capable of Solving Real-world Challenges

The School features specialized studios for smart measurement, digital construction, green construction, and engineering consulting, creating a "learn-theory-in-class, apply-skills-on-projects" immersive training model. Through project-driven cultivation, students engage deeply in real-world domestic and international engineering cases, aligning with global industry demands such as infrastructure upgrades in Belt and Road partner countries. Over the past three years, more than 1,000 students have been placed in internships or careers with top-tier enterprises worldwide. The School follows industry trends and builds a distinctive direction for its International Class for Silk Road Infrastructure, catering to the demand for international talent and providing students with a global development perspective. Here, students not only acquire solid professional skills and ample pre-career experience but also cultivate strong interdisciplinary integration and innovative thinking abilities, shaping their exceptional international career competitiveness.

The School has achieved significant results in talent cultivation, winning over 100 national-level awards in the past three years. This includes two national bronze medals in the Challenge Cup, two national bronze medals in the "Internet+" competition, and 20 provincial-level awards. Additionally, the School has secured five national-level projects and 24 provincial-level projects under the China National University Student Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Program. Students have consistently excelled in prestigious national competitions such as the Smart Construction Design Competition and the BIM Innovation Competition, with both the quantity and quality of awards ranking among the top of peer institutions. Rooted in practical competence and an innovative mindset, the School continues to supply the construction industry with highly skilled, application-oriented professionals, empowering students to realize their career aspirations.
