The Marxism Institute at Xi'an Eurasia University was established in 2022, evolving from the Ideological and Political Education Department founded in 2012. This institution is tasked with comprehensively implementing the national educational goal of "fostering virtue through education" at Xi'an Eurasia University. It focuses on teaching ideological and political theory courses, conducting theoretical research in Marxist theory and ideological-political education, and guiding the integration of ideological and political education across all university courses as a second-tier academic division. The Marxism Institute follows the university's "student-centered" educational philosophy to advance ideological and political curriculum reform. Through continuous innovation, in 2015, it developed a "four-in-one" educational model that integrates theoretical teaching combining logic and history, digital online learning, thematic discussions rooted in teacher-student learning communities, and practical teaching through Problem-Based Learning (PBL). In 2017, the China Education Daily highlighted the achievements of our university's reform in ideological and political education under the headline "Making Abstract Theories Engaging." In the same year, Zhuang Changxing, then a Standing Committee Member and the Minister of Publicity of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), visited our university for an official inspection and highly commended the results of the "four-in-one" teaching reform initiative. In 2020, Li Xiaodong, Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Professor Zhang Leisheng, an expert from the Steering Committee for Ideological and Political Courses in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education, Shi Xiaohong, leader of the Twelfth Touring Guidance Group for Party History Learning and Education of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, along with other prominent officials and experts, visited out university for research and provided high commendations for the achievements in ideological and political work and curriculum innovation. The Marxism Institute consistently upholds the Marxist standpoint, perspective, and methodology, integrating Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era into its regular teaching activities, and continuously enhancing the ideological depth, theoretical rigor, and approachability of ideological and political courses.
