Natatorium at the UniLight Cultural and Sports Center Won the "Excellent Swimming Pool Design Case" Award
The "Top 10 Excellent Project Award" has been successfully held for 6 sessions since its launch in 2017 as the first award program in China for recognizing top 10 engineering projects and excellent design cases in the fields of swimming pools, hot springs, water parks, and clubs. It recognizes enterprises and projects that actively explore engineering and design innovation and strive for excellence in engineering quality. It aims to set an industry benchmark, stimulate innovation vitality, and fully showcase pool design concepts and high-quality construction skills. In addition, it strives to build a cooperation bridge for enterprises to promote continuous innovation and healthy development within the industry. The 2025 "Top 10 Excellent Project Award" set up two major award categories, namely "Top 10 Engineering Projects" and "Excellent Design Cases." A total of 50 excellent works from 16 well-known enterprises in the industry participated in the competition, covering many fields such as swimming pools, hot springs, water parks, and clubs.

UniLight Cultural and Sports Center is another high-quality comprehensive gymnasium built by Xi'an Eurasia University for its teachers and students. It includes various service spaces for swimming, basketball, fitness, dance sports, squash, table tennis, fencing, physical examination, health physiotherapy, integrated office and parking, integrating multiple functions such as sports training, teaching, and social services. With a total construction area of 15,582.41 square meters, it includes two floors aboveground and two floors underground. The project plan was made by the French institution blond&roux architectes, and Aochuang International Engineering Design (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. undertook the construction design.
The natatorium is located on the east side of UniLight Cultural and Sports Center. The first floor is for functional spaces such as the management area, changing room, shower area and rest area, while the second floor comprises a swimming pool with an area of 6,100 square meters. After completion, it will become a modern swimming pool integrating teaching, competition, leisure and entertainment functions to provide professional, comfortable and high-quality venues of water activities for teachers, students and the public.

The natatorium is designed with a full-glass curtain wall, which is in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment through reflection and light transmission to create a light and flexible visual effect. The interior design fully considers the element of "water", creating a pleasant swimming environment, weakening the building boundary, and achieving a perfect balance between function and aesthetics.

In terms of functionality, the natatorium ensures that all functional areas are reasonably arranged in the whole space and efficiently connected with each other through carefully planned circulation system to ensure convenient and orderly movement of users within the building. In addition, the sound insulation, drainage and ventilation facilities of the natatorium are designed scientifically and reasonably to meet people's needs in the process of swimming.

The swimming pool is 25 meters long and 21 meters wide. The mixed-flow water treatment circulation mode is adopted to eliminate potential safety hazards caused by fast backwater and make the system safe and reliable. The pool has a water depth of 1.5 meters and a total water volume of 787.5 tons. It is equipped with two perlite filters with a diameter of 700 millimeters and two 11-kilowatt circulating water pumps, with a filtration period of four hours. Perlite filtration, ozone and medium-pressure ultraviolet disinfection, and urea degradation are applied to ensure the water quality safety. Professional pool tiles, non-slip tiles and handrail tiles are used in the swimming pool to fully ensure the safety of users.

The natatorium also attaches great importance to energy conservation and environmental protection. It uses the waste heat of the dehumidification heat pump to heat the water, which reduces energy consumption. It also reasonably designs the water circulation system to keep water clean and reduce impact on the environment. In addition, the swimming pool adopts whole-process intelligent control, using intelligent management, monitoring and control systems to monitor water quality and temperature in real time and make the corresponding adjustments, so as to improve the management and use efficiency of the pool.

Construction Site of UniLight Cultural and Sports Center (May 2025)
By May 2025, the civil works of the main structure of UniLight Cultural and Sports Center have been completed; 85% of the underground part of electromechanical installation projects have been systematically connected; 30% of the interior decoration has been completed. It is expected to be completed, accepted and handed over for operation by the end of September 2025.
