Remarks by Vice Dean Wang Ying of the EAaD

In her speech, Vice Dean Wang Ying explained that behind these works lies EAaD’s continuously developed “studio reform system”—which has grown from 2 studios in 2023 to 14 studios today, establishing a “four-cross” teaching model integrating cross-disciplinary, cross-enterprise, cross-institutional, and cross-cohort collaboration. “We are not only training designers; we also aim to cultivate comprehensive problem-solvers,” she said. She noted that some studio projects have already been applied to CHAGEE’s nationwide online channels. The Caotang Temple landscape project integrates wayfinding design with brand revitalization, and several student works have been selected for international exhibitions and showcased overseas.

Speech by Wu Yu, 2022 Graduate of Digital Media Art, EAaD, as Student Representative

Wu Yu, a 2022 graduate of Digital Media Art at EAaD, delivered a speech as the student representative. She reflected that her greatest realization over the past four years is that “many things are not as out of reach as they seem.” “Those things that appear impressive are, at their core, simply the result of ordinary people gradually figuring things out,” she said. She also shared the program’s teaching approach of “students learn more, teachers teach less,” in which students enter studios from their first year to participate in real-world projects—experiencing their first shoots, first crisis responses, and gradual growth. “After graduation, there will be more and more first times, but university teaches us that there is no need to fear the unknown—just start doing it,” she said. In 2024, she joined an international exchange program in Singapore, where subtle details of street aesthetics and exhibition spatial design quietly influenced her creative perspective.

Speech by Wang Yi, Faculty Member of Visual Communication Design, EAaD School of Art and Design

Representative faculty member Wang Yi shared his reflections based on personal experience. He noted that the informal learning spaces on the Eurasia campus are comparable to those of European universities, making international students feel at home. The studio-based system at EAaD enabled him to transition from environmental design to visual communication, completing a cross-disciplinary shift. He also emphasized that “Undefined” itself represents a rejection of labels. “Carry forward the sincerity of being an EAaD student and embrace the challenges of the next stage of your future,” he said.

Speech by Ms. Guo Jing, Organizer of the EBC Health Light Food Innovation Conference and Secretary-General of the Future Light Food Industry Research Institute

As a corporate representative, Guo Jing, organizer of the EBC Health Light Food Innovation Conference and Secretary-General of the Future Light Food Industry Research Institute, delivered a speech. She recalled that in the early stage of her entrepreneurship, she once “borrowed” a Eurasia graduate as a designer, who later became the designer of the logo and key visual identity for the “Xi’an Year · The Most Chinese” campaign. “Beauty is an invisible form of competitiveness,” she said, “but I hope students can translate beauty into a language that the business world can understand.” She encouraged graduates to become “rare assets in the business world,” capable of understanding the true request behind a client’s “I want it in red”—which is actually “I want to be seen.”

He proposed three theoretical foundations for interdisciplinary education: customer needs, technological feasibility, and commercial sustainability. In the future, EAaD will collaborate closely with the School of Business Administration and the School of Information Engineering to help students acquire project management and financial knowledge.
