In his remarks, Zhang Lefang noted that digital technologies and artificial intelligence are reshaping industries at an unprecedented pace. In response, XEU has developed its “New Services, New Business and New Media” strategy, shifting its educational approach from a primarily discipline-based logic towards one that is more closely connected with industry.

“The Huawei Authorized Service Center is not only a convenient service facility for our students and faculty, but also a practice-based learning platform jointly developed by the university and industry,” Zhang said.

Through authentic settings, real projects and real-world tasks, the university aims to help students strengthen their understanding of users, communication and collaboration skills, and capabilities in digital service.

Luo Xiaohui highlighted the long-standing partnership between Huawei’s consumer business and XEU. Since 2022, the two sides have jointly operated industry-oriented training cohorts. Over five consecutive years, these programmes have involved approximately 350 students, with 174 subsequently joining Huawei.

The opening of the new campus service center represents a further deepening of this partnership and an extension of the two organisations’ efforts to develop talent for Huawei’s all-scenario smart device ecosystem.

The center provides students and faculty with one-stop access to Huawei products and services, including hands-on product experiences, device maintenance, repair and diagnostic services.

A range of special activities and benefits were also introduced to mark the opening, including opportunities to experience Huawei’s latest flagship devices and the HarmonyOS ecosystem on campus. Teacher’s Day promotions, a back-to-school photography studio and DIY phone case activities were also made available to the university community.

A Partnership Built Over a Decade

The partnership between Xi’an Eurasia University and Huawei dates back to 2016, when XEU’s School of Information Engineering signed its first university–industry cooperation agreement with Huawei Technologies.

In 2019, the university became a recognised Huawei ICT Academy. In 2023, XEU signed a further agreement with Huawei Device Co., Ltd. and established a Huawei All-Scenario Smart Device Service Talent Development Base.

Over the years, collaboration between the two organisations has gradually extended from institutional partnership to curriculum design and teaching.

Courses such as Cloud Computing Technology and Applications and Routing and Switching Technology have incorporated Huawei certification resources. The Software Engineering programme has introduced a HarmonyOS pathway, including courses such as Fundamentals of HarmonyOS Application Development, Advanced HarmonyOS Application Development and Domestic Operating System Applications.

The Electronic Information Engineering programme has developed a mobile smart device pathway covering operations and maintenance, testing and service. The Internet of Things Engineering programme has also established Huawei certification classes based on a training model that combines market demand, ecosystem resources, differentiated talent development, university–industry collaboration and employment pathways.

The School of Information Engineering has established three major laboratories and training facilities focusing on Huawei cloud computing, 5G base station simulation and data communications, while also incorporating Huawei Cloud Academy into teaching.

In 2025, the School completed a teaching reform project focused on introducing domestically developed software technologies into the classroom.

From Professional Certification to Career Development

Over the past five years, dozens of faculty members from the School of Information Engineering have participated in Huawei ICT faculty development programmes, with seven obtaining Huawei-related industry certifications.

Within the Communication Engineering programme, approximately 90% of faculty members have professional experience with companies such as Huawei and ZTE or hold relevant industry teaching certifications.

Student participation has also grown steadily. More than 300 students have taken part in Huawei certification programmes, with the pass rate for the Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) qualification remaining above 95%. Collectively, students have obtained more than 200 Huawei-related certifications.

Students have also achieved strong results in technology competitions. Over the past three years, XEU students have received more than ten provincial-level awards in the Huawei ICT Competition. In 2024, a student team won second prize in the Northwest Regional Competition of the National College Student Internet of Things Design Contest.

In 2025, XEU hosted the second HarmonyOS Device–Cloud Intelligent Application Development Competition, where university teams received both second- and third-prize awards.

Career pathways have expanded alongside curriculum development. Over the past three years, more than 80 graduates annually have joined companies within Huawei’s wider ecosystem, including iSoftStone, Chinasoft International and Huawei Huitong. More than 200 XEU graduates have joined iSoftStone alone.

Huawei HR professionals also regularly participate in career development activities at the university, helping students better understand industry roles and strengthen their interview and career-planning skills.

Turning the Campus into a Real-World Learning Environment

In the past, students often had to leave campus to gain direct exposure to companies and real-world business environments.

The new Huawei Authorized Service Center changes that.

By bringing technology experiences, customer services and authentic user scenarios directly onto campus, the center transforms the university itself into a space for industry-based learning.

For Xi’an Eurasia University, the center represents a tangible example of its “New Services, New Business and New Media” strategy in action.

When companies, products, users and real-world scenarios all become part of the campus environment, the distance between the classroom and industry becomes smaller—and students gain more opportunities to learn by doing.
