Space educates without words
and offers one of the most vivid reflections of campus life.
This summer,
spaces across Xi’an Eurasia University have been renewed and reimagined.
From landscape upgrades that bring greater vitality,
to campus living spaces that combine thoughtful design with attention to detail,
and more flexible, multifunctional learning environments,
a refreshed picture of life at Eurasia
is ready for the new semester.
PART 1
Starting with Every Plant and Tree
A Better Campus Landscape Takes Shape
The character of a university is often revealed in the way it lives alongside nature.
This summer, Eurasia carried out a series of small-scale landscape upgrades across campus. Inspired by the relaxed, natural character of southern France, areas beside the cafés and courtyard of the South Campus teaching buildings, Living Room No. 1 in the North Campus, the west side of North Residence Hall No. 3, and the area beside KFC at Teaching Building B in the West Campus were redesigned with plants such as cape jasmine, agave and rosemary. A lighter, more open planting scheme has softened previously enclosed building edges with limited sunlight, allowing light, views and nature to flow more freely. Carefully preserved open spaces also give students room to use, meet, talk and imagine in their own ways.

Southern French-inspired planting can now be found in different corners of the campus.
The residential area in the southwest of campus is also gaining a new everyday landscape, with a central waterscape photo spot, the Cedar Central Lawn and greener residence terraces being refreshed in stages. Red and green lounge chairs will be placed on the lawn to create spaces for resting, reading, studying and discussion. Climbing plants will add greenery to the terrace drying areas, improving their appearance while retaining the authenticity of everyday student life.

Another highlight is a new mirror-like waterscape currently under construction at the entrance to the southwest residential area. Using water as a visual medium, it will create a new relationship among architecture, light, reflections and the surrounding landscape, adding a light and inviting place to meet and take photos on campus. The project is expected to be completed in mid-September. After the semester begins, the area will remain cordoned off with stanchions and additional lighting will be installed to ensure safety until this new campus landmark is ready to open.

Meanwhile, the central divider at the South Gate and the lawn north of Jinqiao Restaurant are also being renewed. From clearing vegetation and turning the soil to reorganising plantings, the work is giving the campus green spaces greater depth, variety and vitality.

PART 2
A New Everyday Life on Campus
More Complete, More Comfortable, and Ready to Welcome You
This summer, student residences and everyday living spaces have also been renewed from the inside out.
Residence Halls No. 1 and No. 2 in the North Campus now feature completely redesigned façades. Drawing on Bauhaus design language and Eurasia’s visual identity, coloured window frames contrast with grey surrounds, while ceramic panels and metal materials bring new colour, light, shadow and rhythm to familiar buildings.

At the same time, Residence Halls No. 1 and No. 2 in the North Campus and No. 3, No. 6 and No. 7 in the West Campus have undergone a series of upgrades to interiors, bathrooms, furniture, air conditioning and hot-water systems. In addition, 419 rooms for incoming students have been repainted, creating brighter spaces ready for a new chapter of campus life.

Beyond the residence halls, daily life around campus is becoming more convenient as well.
A total of 360 new bicycle and e-bike parking spaces have been added north of the North Campus residence halls. The western campus boundary wall and West Gate No. 1 have also been renovated, making everyday movement around campus easier and more convenient.

A new parcel station, a Tmall Supermarket on the basement level of Hongqiao Student Center, and a Yiyou Convenience Store in Chunshanli will open in succession. From collecting deliveries to picking up daily essentials, the small details of campus life are being thoughtfully taken care of.

In Chunshanli, a student proposal to improve lift operations has also become a reality this summer. Wang Haotian, a student majoring in Engineering Cost Management, studied peak-hour congestion through on-site observation and analysis and proposed ideas including zoned dispatching and better matching of lift capacity to demand. Following discussions involving multiple university departments, the plan was further developed into separate operation for lower and upper floors. Ten lifts across the Chunshang and Shannan residence buildings have now been upgraded and are undergoing trial operation. From a student proposal to a tangible change on campus, students are becoming active participants in shaping the environment around them.

Learning Spaces
Opening Up More Possibilities
Spaces for learning and creativity are changing too.
The entrance lobby of Teaching Building C in the South Campus has been fully renovated, including the canopy, doors and windows, interior finishes and furniture. A newly installed lift is also now in service, making the building more comfortable and accessible while creating more possibilities for learning and interaction.

Studios in the School of Culture and Media and the School of Human Settlements and Environment have also been upgraded, providing teaching settings better suited to professional practice and creative work.
Meanwhile, the Huawei Experience Store is set to open soon. By bringing an authentic brand and industry environment onto campus, it creates a new connection beyond the classroom between academic learning, professional practice and industry.

Space may be silent,
but it is always part of how people grow.
At Eurasia, campus renewal is about more than changing how the university looks.
Guided by a student-centred philosophy,
we continue to rethink the relationship between people and space,
so that the environment does more than support everyday life:
it also creates possibilities for connection and growth.
This September, every member of the Eurasia community
will continue their story in a better campus environment.
