
Introduction
The University of Queensland (UQ) is a leading research-intensive institution in Australia. Established in 1909 [57-59], it is the first comprehensive university in Queensland and ranks among the top 50 in many world university rankings. It is one of the six sandstone universities and a member of organizations such as the Association of Pacific Rim Universities, Group of Eight, Universitas 21, and the International Alliance for Emerging Engineering Education.
Among UQ alumni, there are two Nobel Prize laureates and 117 Rhodes Scholars. The two Nobel laureates are Peter Doherty, winner of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, and a winner of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
