On February 20, the Ministry of Education released the list of winners in the National Final of the China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Xi'an Eurasia University won four national bronze prizes, ranking first among same-type universities in terms of the number of prizes in the province, hitting a new record high!

The China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, is one of the most comprehensive and influential discipline competitions for college students covering the widest area with the most number of participants in China. With the theme of "I Dare to Venture, I Can Start a Business", the competition was undertaken by Chongqing University. More than 14.5 million participants from 111 countries and regions signed up for the competition with over 3.4 million projects. Last year, Xi'an Eurasia University won six provincial gold, 10 silver and 15 bronze prizes.

In recent years, Xi'an Eurasia University has promoted the implementation of project-based learning by building a training system for innovative and entrepreneurial talent, reforming the curriculum featuring "cases, famous teachers, lectures, projects, informatization and interdisciplinary" and building teaching spaces dominated by studios and maker spaces. With such efforts, it accumulated a large number of projects for the "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Zhuang Zhihe from the New Culture Research Institute of the School of Culture & Media participated in the competition with the project "Banshufang — One-stop Cultural Space Standard Operation Solution Provider", under the guidance of Wang Ziwei and other teachers. Chen Simo presented the project "Yingyan — Stereo Vision for Volume Measurement" under the guidance of Shen Ruibing and other teachers. Gu Jihao's project "Grinder Health Monitor — China's First Grinder Sound Monitoring Device" under the guidance of Xu Xiaoqing, Liu Xin and other teachers won a bronze prize. From the AI Intelligent Connection Studio of the School of Business Administration, Dang Jingru's project "Shenyang AI Video Recognition System Innovator" under the guidance of Wu Rui, Wang Yanwu and other teachers was also a bronze prize winner.

Xi'an Eurasia University will keep cultivating applied talent, developing students' innovative spirit, entrepreneurial awareness and practical ability, and contributing to social development.

It aims to address problems such as the waste of public spaces, lack of cultural promotion spaces and the ability for activity planning and operation the governments and businesses are faced with, and overabundant similar bookstores. The project endeavors to transform public spaces into cultural centers in cities with space design and knowledge marketing.

Yingyan — Stereo Vision for Volume Measurement

Participating College: School of Information Engineering

Project Leader: Chen Simou

Team Members: Sun Lixiang, Hou Di, Zhang Xiaoge, Zhang Kai, Cai Teyi, Wu Jiaxiu, He Rong, Zhang Siyuan, Cheng Zhiyuan, Nie Liuzhou, Dou Senjing

The project is to accurately measure the volume of sand and gravel with a volume measurement system. It mainly uses 3D reconstruction to get information on depth by observing vehicles entering and leaving the site twice, so as to fit the contours of three parts, namely the vehicle frame, the sand top, and the bottom of the vehicle frame. According to the corresponding formula, the volume and single side of sand are accurately calculated, and the elevation measurement error is controlled within 3 cm.

The binocular vision technology used in the project has been widely applied in many fields such as robot vision, aerial mapping, military application, medical imaging and industrial testing. It is mature and reliable. The sand and gravel truck remote measurement system has achieved the goal of fast and accurate measurement for sand and gravel acceptance at unattended yards. At the same time, it features low hardware costs and highly intelligent software, which is of great significance to drive the intelligent and efficient development of the construction industry.

Grinder Health Monitor — China's First Grinder Sound Monitoring Device

Participating College: School of Information Engineering

Project Leader: Gu Jihao

Team Members: Li Guiyuan, Lan Jie, Zhang Yuhao, Huang Zhendong, Li Chuanjiao

Instructors: Xu Xiaoqing, Liu Xin, Liu Qi, He Pengju, Dong Yang

The team focuses on the R&D and innovative application of acoustic emission (AE) intelligent structural monitoring and predictive maintenance products, mainly for ultra-early warning and control of precision structural safety and structural equipment. It aims to provide customers with customized products and solutions, including precision mechanical AE status monitoring devices and data analysis services.

The project team has accumulated digital application scenarios of acoustic structure health monitoring covering multiple industries. Based on a lot of studies on grinder equipment, flowmeters and bridges, the products' function and performance have been recognized by third-party enterprises, empowering the innovative development of the industry.

Shenyang Online AI Video Recognition System is an edge computing-based product integrating video photography, transmission and still image capture, screenshot early warning of violations and other functions. The product adopts edge computing for distributed computing. With special distribution channels and a modern informatization operation management mode, the project effectively integrates the whole process of production, supply and marketing of products and advocates the unification of economic value and social value. It strives to solve safety problems caused by irregular personal behaviors more quickly for society and better protect people's life and property.

In recent years, the advantages of digital, networked video surveillance systems over traditional CCTV systems have become more obvious. The new system is highly standardized, open, integrated, and flexible, providing a broader development space for the whole security industry. Many industries now require an unattended operation. Traditional technologies can no longer meet some of their needs. The implementation of this project offers technical support for the electronic monitoring and security industry.
