Hello!

At this important moment, when you are about to fill out your applications and choose a university to go to, I sincerely invite you to visit the beautiful Xi’an Eurasia University and experience the uniqueness of it as a university adhering to the principle of “Pluralitas in unitatem”.

I hope to communicate with you in this way and tell you about the new learning and living experiences that Xi’an Eurasia University’s ongoing educational reforms will bring to you, the values advocated and insisted upon by the university, and whether they align with your choices and pursuits.

A High-quality campus environment

I believe that the environment is a particularly important consideration to many high school seniors when they choose the university to go to. In May this year, I visited some American and Canadian universities. When I introduced Xi’an Eurasia University to the officials of Wayne State University and Ball State University, they all highly praised Xi’an Eurasia University for its international campus environment. Many people who have come to Xi’an Eurasia University say that the campus environment here is hardly distinguishable from that of universities abroad.

In Xi’an Eurasia University’s educational philosophy, the campus is an important arena for talent cultivation and a good campus environment subtly shapes students’ emotions and characters. When you come to visit the university, you will find that the design of each building is not only distinctive but also closely aligned with the functional layout for education and learning. Teaching buildings, workshops, the central hall of the Student Living Room, and the Hongqiao Student Center are equipped with movable tables, chairs, sofas, power sockets, self-service printers, lockers, and bookshelves, among others, for the convenience of students’ study and communication. Meanwhile, facilities such as coffee bars, gyms, and canteens are set up in proximity to meet students’ needs for social interaction and relaxation.

These architectural spaces are created by outstanding architects and interior design teams from France, Australia, and China. They not only focus on the functions of the buildings but also consider the enlightenment and inspiration of architectural aesthetics for people, the harmonious relationship between architecture and individuals, and the sustainable development of the environment. In May this year, the teaching building of the School of Humanities and Education, the Hongqiao Garden, the Hongqiao Student Center, and the Design and Media Experimental Center won the gold award and silver award of 2022-2023 AEEDA respectively, which suggested that Xi’an Eurasia University’s “people-oriented” architectural design philosophy was highly recognized.

Xi’an Eurasia University’s architecture and spaces combine aesthetic designs and educational functions, allowing you to live and learn in a wonderful environment. In addition, various art exhibitions, academic activities, interdisciplinary exchanges are carried out across the campus, showcasing Xi’an Eurasia University’s commitment to providing a good environment for cultural education. You can experience all this in your future learning journey at the university.

International education at home

Over the years, Xi’an Eurasia University has adhered to the “student-centered” educational philosophy. International and cross-cultural elements are incorporated into various formal and informal courses. Program-based learning and flipped classrooms are integrated throughout students’ professional study.

Recently, the Academic Season of the School of Humanities and Education, the Design Practice Week of the EAaD School, and the Missouri Teaching Week Bilingual Program of the School of Culture & Communication have been held. Together with your group partners, you can select topics of interest, conduct research, plan, design, and eventually present your findings through academic posters, theatrical performances, or business practice achievements. In this case, everyone can feel the joy of learning and growth.

As a university offering international education in China, Xi’an Eurasia University provides students with a range of borderless learning platforms, including international study tours, exchange programs, excellent bilingual programs, international certification programs, and Sino-foreign cooperative programs. Xi’an Eurasia University offers bilingual classes for its 16 undergraduate majors, and many of its courses are aligned with those of renowned overseas universities. Last year, 114 students enrolled in the Sino-foreign cooperative program for software engineering, starting their international learning experience at Xi’an Eurasia University. Upon graduation, those students will receive dual degrees from Xi’an Eurasia University and Middle Tennessee State University of the United States. Xi’an Eurasia University takes the lead among domestic universities in terms of the teaching quality of ACCA programs, winning the “ACCA Gold Approved Learning Partner” title for three consecutive years. At Xi’an Eurasia University, international education will offer you diverse perspectives, professional development opportunities, and thought-provoking experiences, enabling you to face the future world confidently and powerfully.

If you encounter difficulties in study or wish to tackle greater challenges in language learning, the Learning Support Center and Global Language Center of Xi’an Eurasia University will provide all-round assistance and guidance to you. The Learning Support Center offers services such as Office Hours and Rolling Workshops to help you break through fixed thinking patterns and find efficient study methods and habits. Teachers of the Global Language Center will take you to explore multiculturalism in the city, so that you can learn knowledge outside the classroom, improve your oral communication skills, and discover new sparks in the fusion of university and urban life.

Promising growth potential

Xi’an Eurasia University encourages various extracurricular activities and ample social involvement, allowing students to grow as they are and find their true interests. Driven by passion, you will discover a brighter version of yourself through professional study, competition practices, community life, and club activities.

During the spring semester this year, the eight Youth Communities of Xi’an Eurasia University organized vibrant cultural activities, such as the cultural experience exhibition held by the Confucius Youth Community, the women’s forum held by the Queens’ Land Youth Community, and the simulated United Nations conference held by the International Youth Community. Over 80 clubs jointly organized the Club Culture Festival. Most of these activities were independently planned by freshmen and sophomores. They found joy in the things they loved and developed leadership, appreciation, creativity, and other lifelong professional skills. Moreover, a host of outstanding athletes from Xi’an Eurasia University achieved championships in various sports competitions, such as the “Saipu Cup” China College Student Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship, the College Basketball League in Shaanxi Province, the College Football League in Shaanxi Province, and the College Student Artistic Gymnastics, Cheerleading Dance, Street Dance, and Campus Aerobics Dance Championships in Shaanxi Province.

This week, 5,708 graduates from the 2023 class will embark on the next journey of their life with what they have learned at Xi’an Eurasia University. Some of them will continue their study at renowned overseas or domestic universities, some will enter top companies in different industries, and some will venture into entrepreneurship in the fields they have passion for. The qualities they have acquired at Xi’an Eurasia University, such as independent thinking, effective communication and collaboration, diverse international perspectives, and innovative practical abilities, will empower them and make them more confident in pursuing self-value and realizing their dreams.

Conclusion

During the just-concluded graduation ceremony, Professor Hu Jianbo, the founder and chairman of Xi’an Eurasia University, shared a farewell message with the graduates. He quoted a line from Drucker’s book The Last of All Possible Worlds: “My goal is to create a humane environment where people can live with their heads held high”. I would also like to extend this message to those who are about to apply for admission into Xi’an Eurasia University. May you embark on a journey of exciting and fulfilling learning at Xi’an Eurasia University and go confidently into the future, holding your head high!
