Developing rapidly, artificial intelligence (AI) technology has reshaped the learning scenario and generated profound impacts on enterprise training. Digital technology and AI have become indispensable in talent learning and development, and “AI+training” has become a new trend for enterprise training. Today’s business environment is changing quickly. To better meet business needs and improve KPI, enterprises’ training departments must keep up with the trends of the times and adopt the most advanced methods, models, and tools to provide intelligent, unique, and customized training programs. By doing so, they will help enterprises cope with core business challenges, improve efficiency and performance, and promote enterprises’ continual development.

On June 30, 2023, the “HR-empowered Offline Seminar · Xi’an”, sponsored by CEIBS Business Online and Xi’an Eurasia University and organized by Xi’an High-tech Zone Human Resources Industry Association, was held grandly. The seminar brought together professionals from different fields and important figures in academia.

Their professional backgrounds and rich experience added more academic depth and practical value to this seminar, through which they jointly exchanged new directions for the future development of enterprise management talents and explored new training trends in the AI era.

By offering a platform for experts, scholars, and guests to have interactive exchanges, this seminar jointly explored the creation and upgrading of learning-oriented organizations, discussed challenges in human resources management, and contributed to the sustainable development of enterprises. Under the theme of “Reshaping the Growth Engine, Building and Upgrading Learning-oriented Organizations in Enterprises”, Qu Yi, Human Resources Director of Easy Click Worldwide Network Technology Co., Ltd., and Zhang Lihong, Head of Human Resources Department of Xi’an Eurasia University, were invited as guest speakers to share their views and successful practical experience from different perspectives. Qu Yi shared how to use digital technology to train the new generation of employees and promote their continuous growth. Zhang Lihong focused on the latest trends in human resource management development in the AI era and how to cultivate and enhance the internal drive for organizational development.

Before the sharing, Wang Yuxin, General Manager of National Sales and Senior Expert Consultant of CEIBS Business Online, extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all leaders, experts, scholars, and guests for their presence. Wang Yan, Vice President of Xi’an Eurasia University, delivered a speech on behalf of the host. She highlighted the importance of organizational capacity building and pointed out that there were many commonalities between universities and enterprises in this regard. Wang Yan said that the university encourages teachers to give full play to their advantages to contribute to enterprise development. She cited a saying of Peter F.Drucker, a master of management science, that “focusing on contribution can be effective”, and hoped that participants could work together to contribute to organization development.

In the keynote sharing session, Wang Yuxin delivered a speech entitled “Reshaping Growth - Enhancing Internal Driving Forces for Organizations with Human Resources”. She posed a thought-provoking question “in the past, managers used to think about what changes would happen over the next decade, and more importantly, what would remain unchanged over the next decade.” She pointed out that today’s enterprises mainly face two challenges: changes and long-term situations, and digitalization is still a future direction for enterprise upgrading and transformation. However, according to statistics, only 7% of enterprises have realized relatively mature digital transformation. The key factors for digital transformation include digital talent, organizational culture, and digital transformation leadership. These factors play a crucial role in the digital transformation of enterprises. For digital transformation, enterprises should value specific talent, shape an organizational culture suitable for the digital era, and build a team with leadership in digital transformation. Wang Yuxin put forward three suggestions in her speech: thinking upgrading, capacity reserves, and effective assessment. She then introduced the online courses and empowerment programs of CEIBS Business Online to help enterprises improve managers’ digital transformation capabilities. By sharing successful cases, she emphasized the importance of human resources in digital transformation and encouraged business managers to take proactive actions to promote digital transformation. Wang Yuxin’s speech stimulated deeper reflection on the importance and impact of digital transformation. Her sharing provides essential ideas and inspiration for enterprise managers to guide them to promote organizational development and enhance the internal driving force in the digital era.

Taking the development of Xi’an Eurasia University as an example, Zhang Lihong deeply discussed how to improve organizational capabilities and thus promote effective implementation of related strategies. She emphasized the close relationship between strategic direction and organizational capacity, noting both were indispensable. However, compared with easily replicable strategic directions, organizational capabilities with unique advantages should be the key to winning long-lasting wars. Then, she elaborated on the practical experience of Xi’an Eurasia University in talent development and management in five aspects.

Goal sharing: Through clear goal setting and effective communication mechanisms, Xi’an Eurasia University has realized the sharing and transmission of goals in the organization, so that all members can closely unite under a common strategic goal and contribute to organizational development.

Organizational management: Xi’an Eurasia University has innovated the reform of university-school two-level management model and established a “co-governance” internal governance structure with multiple subjects participating. This flexible management system promotes units at all levels to work together better and realize the efficient operation of organizational management.

Talent development: Xi’an Eurasia University has consolidated the post and official rank management system and built five job sequences in line with Top 500 enterprises. At the same time, the university has sorted out the qualification and competency models of different positions, providing a scientific basis for talent selection, cultivation, and promotion.

Culture-led: Xi’an Eurasia University focuses on building a cultural atmosphere conducive to organizational development. By cultivating a positive, innovative, and progressive university culture, it has stimulated the enthusiasm and creativity of employees and provided strong internal motivation for the organization’s development.

Development achievements: Xi’an Eurasia University has continuously optimized the human resources process system and established tools such as a digital operation management system for human resources. These measures enable the university to manage human resources more efficiently and improve the operational efficiency and performance of the organization. Through the above sharing of practical experience, Zhang Lihong emphasized the importance of enhancing organizational capacity for the implementation of the strategy and how to continuously improve organizational capacity through efforts in goal sharing, organization management, talent development, culture-led progress, and development effectiveness, so as to promote the efficient implementation of the strategy.

In the seminar, Qu Yi shared her insights into the importance of talent cultivation and development, focusing on personality traits of new-generation employees and digital training’s impacts on them. She said that compared with the post-80s generation, the post-95 employees have unique characteristics: they pay more attention to presenting themselves than pursuing the role of managers. Therefore, while cultivating employees of the new generation, enterprises need to find right training models that meet these employees’ characteristics and can promote business development. In this regard, digital training is a useful tool, but challenges in information security, offline training experience and participation, and organizational inertia in learning should be resolved. Based on her observation of the industry and enterprises involved, Qu Yi shared successful practices regarding talent development and training, which were recognized and applied in this industry, offering a strong reference for the effective implementation of talent development and training.

As one of the sponsors, Xi’an Eurasia University is deeply honored to cooperate with CEIBS Business Online and Xi’an High-tech Zone Human Resources Industry Association to hold this offline seminar for HR empowerment.
