Recently, the Office of Academic Research of Xi’an Eurasia University was invited to participate in a collaborative innovation event hosted by the Qinchuangyuan Incubation Platform and Huyi District. The event aims to promote technology-driven development in rural industries by bringing together industry, universities, and research sectors. During the event, contracts were signed to apply the results of agricultural scientific research from the School of Information Engineering and EAaD School into practice.

This event was hosted by the Bureau of Investment, Cooperation, Industry, and Information Technology of Huyi District and co-organized by the Xi’an Automotive Parts Industrial Park. The event was moderated by Wang Jun, Director of the Productivity Promotion Center of Huyi District. Notable attendees included Chang Jing, Deputy Director of the Bureau of Investment, Cooperation, Industry, and Information Technology of Huyi District, along with officials and leaders from the Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Huyi District and the Management Committee of Xi’an Fengjing Industrial Park. The Office of Academic Research of Xi’an Eurasia University was invited as a representative of outstanding colleges providing significant contributions to local industries.

As a regional university offering application-oriented undergraduate programs, Xi’an Eurasia University has actively promoted collaboration between industry, academia, and research since 2015, marking it as a crucial task. The university encourages its faculty members to vigorously engage in collaborations, integrating real-world business projects into teaching and research, thereby forwarding the integrated advancement of industry, academia, and research. This integrated approach not only enables teachers to remain on the pulse of industry trends and better understand real-world demands related to their disciplines, but it also improves their abilities, enriches course content, and contributes to improving the quality of talent cultivation.

Over the past two years, the university has implemented two strategies to promote the development of industry-academia-research collaborations. First, by fostering teachers’ abilities in applied research and professional skills to produce valuable outcomes for businesses, thereby augmenting their capability to serve businesses and catalyze the advancement of industry-based research. Second, by encouraging faculty involvement in school-enterprise collaborations. Through these, teachers identify issues, undertake research based on those issues, and produce solutions or results that offer targeted services for businesses. After two years of dedicated effort, significant progress has been made in advancing the industry-academia-research collaboration. In 2022, successful breakthroughs were achieved with six successful technology implementations, creating a value of nearly RMB 500,000. These recent applications of two patents represent another new attempt and breakthrough in the Qinchuangyuan-Huyi District’s initiative for facilitating rural industrial development through science and technology.

In the future, Xi’an Eurasia University will continue to leverage the advantages of its talent pool and technology in offering intellectual and technical services for regional social service developments, thereby making further contributions to regional economic development.
