On the afternoon of January 22, the Awarding Ceremony of the College Basketball League in Shaanxi Province and CUBAL Preliminaries in 2023 (Shaanxi Division) was held in Aoxiang Gymnasium, Chang'an Campus of Northwestern Polytechnical University. In the finals of the secondary and tertiary leagues that ended on the afternoon of January 19, the team of Xi'an Eurasia University successfully defended its championship and won the championship of the men's group in the secondary league. The team of the School of Higher Vocational Education, Xi'an Eurasia University won the runner-up of the men's group in the tertiary league.

The competition was sponsored by the Federation of University Sports of China and the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government, and undertaken by the Shaanxi Student Sports Association and Northwestern Polytechnical University. There were three groups: primary league, secondary league, and tertiary league, with a total of 142 teams and 2,130 athletes signing up for the competition.

In the secondary league, the Xi'an Eurasia University men's basketball team was composed of nine students including Zhi Qiang, Guo Ziqi, Wang Zhihan, Kang Yipu, Yellars Muhayati, Zhang Qingtao, Zhou Yun, Chen Jiayi, and Ding Wenhao. The team was led by Shen Han, Director of the Sports Center of the School of General Education, and coached by Liu Qing, Zhang Jun, and Liu Yitong.

As the champion of the 2022 secondary league, the Xi'an Eurasia University men's basketball team has shown its strong strength since the group stage on January 9. Faced with the tight schedule, the Xi'an Eurasia University men's basketball team defeated Xi'an Traffic Engineering Institute, Shaanxi Xueqian Normal University, Xi'an Technology and Business College, and Modern College of Northwest University in Group A successively, and advanced to the knockout stage with a group record of winning 4 matches.

In the knockout stage, the Xi'an Eurasia University men's basketball team defeated Xi'an University of Science and Technology and Chang'an University respectively. In the semi-final, it met with the old strong team of Xi'an Jiaotong University. The men's basketball team dared to fight and beat its opponent with a big score of 75:52 to enter the final.

On the afternoon of January 19, the championship battle kicked off between Xi'an Eurasia University and Northwestern Polytechnical University. The men's basketball team of Xi'an Eurasia University cooperated well with each other and gave full play to their skills and tactics. Finally, they defeated the opponent at 66:54 and won the secondary league championship again. They also achieved three consecutive championships in the 17th Games of Shaanxi Province in 2022 and the College Basketball League in Shaanxi Province in 2022 and 2023, showing the excellent level of sports competition and the sporting spirit of forging ahead with determination, unity and fighting.

This competition stands as CUBAL preliminaries and the winning teams of each group will represent Shaanxi to participate in the CUBAL regional competition. We look forward to seeing a greater breakthrough and another success in the nationwide regional competition of CUBAL Secondary League!

Based on the concept of "holistic education", the Sports Center of the School of General Education began an all-round physical education curriculum reform in 2009, implemented the system of students' independent choice of courses and sports clubs, and actively explored a new mode of educating students through college physical education. Since 2021, the Sports Center has provided a platform for students to participate in sports events and built Xi'an Eurasia University sports brands via year-round sports leagues such as the EUAA, EUFA, EUBA, EUTTC and EUBL, so as to further promote the popularization and development of campus sports and make sports truly become the lifestyle of Xi'an Eurasia University students. A number of clubs such as Basketball Club, Zhengtu Bicycle Club, Sports Dance Club, Cheerleading Club, Badminton Club and Table Tennis Club have stood out and won gold and silver medals in provincial and even national competitions for consecutive years.
