On the afternoon of March 15, the Launching Ceremony of the Software Engineering Class, which is jointly opened by the School of Information Engineering of Xi'an Eurasia University and the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) of the United States, was held in the academic lecture hall of the library of Xi'an Eurasia University. Some leaders of Xi'an Eurasia University attended the Launching Ceremony, including President Liu Jin, Vice Presidents Cao Mingming, Sun Jianrong and Zhang Lefang, as well as heads of some functional offices and the School of Information Engineering.

Founded in 1911, the MTSU is a comprehensive public university integrating teaching and research, and it owns three Nobel laureates. The Sino-US Cooperation Project for the major of Software Engineering, approved by China's Ministry of Education in April 2022, enrolled the first group of 114 students in September that year. Based on the needs of the global software and information technology sector, this project aims to cultivate international application-oriented professionals who have an all-round moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic grounding with a hard-working spirit, an international perspective, innovative thinking and high professional quality, have mastered computer science theory, modern software engineering methods and mainstream development technologies, and are competent in software development, testing and software technology services.

In his speech, Sun Jianrong said that Xi'an Eurasia University provides an excellent platform for students joining the Sino-US Cooperation Projects, and encourages them to get rid of "procrastination" and adopt a positive attitude toward study and life.

Sidney A. McPhee, President of MTSU, attended the Launching Ceremony via video link. After extending a warm welcome to the 114 students who have joined the double degree program of Software Engineering, he expressed his expectation for the cooperation between MTSU and Xi'an Eurasia University to provide the best and most valuable education.

Afterwards, the leaders and students present wrote down their wishes and expectations for the future in "time capsules" and put them into a "time machine". Three years later, they will open the capsules to see what progress and changes they have made.

President of Xi'an Eurasia University Liu Jin hopes students will usher in a more diversified future and have the courage to explore the wonderful unknown world.
