On the occasion of the 28th World Book Day, Xi'an Eurasia University and Qujiang Bookstore jointly launched the "Unfolding the World of Books" Reading Culture Festival to advocate lifelong education.

On April 23, a book design exhibition was opened at the Administrative Center of Xi'an Eurasia University to present the books and posters designed by Goldstein brothers, the judges of "The Most Beautiful Books in the World"; two specialists' reading lectures were launched at Qujiang Bookstore to explore the beauty of reading in culture and philosophy. This year's festival specially launched "Reading Together" to donate books to middle schools, so that reading advocacy can reach teenagers.

Books are composite products of words, images and materials. A beautiful book can span time and space, and synergize beautiful design with materials techniques, printing technology, people's reading needs, and avant-garde design exploration. Since 2010, Goldstein brothers, as the judges of "The Most Beautiful Books in the World", have been committed to exploring the unique charm of books from the dimensions of connotation interpretation, binding design, culture and history.

This exhibition displays the pioneering and exploratory book and poster design works of the two designers. These ingeniously arranged, overlapping and integrated fonts and images constitute their unique design aesthetics.

The history of mankind has unfolded since the first graphic characters were recorded and the first city-state was established. In this long history, the Chinese nation has written a brilliant page. The past 5,000 years have seen the emergence of many famous figures who are still praised and remembered today. Yet history is made up of more unknown people, drowned in starlight, and seeing their stories will provide a new perspective to understand that moment and then better examine the present. Pi Ye Huo, an influential figure on the first edition of Zhihu's "Intelligence List", a doctor of laws and lecturer from Northwest University, gave a reading lecture at this year's festival, presenting a different interpretation of times through the perspective of historical figures.

For today's young people, how can they find a certain self-existence and cope with an ever-changing future at a time when uncertainty is a common consensus? The report of the 20th CPC National Congress summarizes the work in the past five years and the great changes over the past decade in the new era, as well as the changes that have taken place in the domestic and international environment. The report is a classic model worthy of continuous study and research for young people and the masses. At Xi'an Eurasia University, the Party Committee has promoted the reform and innovation of ideological and political theory courses to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtues and cultivating talents. It has built an excellent team of teachers of related courses. In the theme activity of the mass drill for ideological and political theory course teachers in colleges and universities in Shaanxi Province, teachers of related courses at the university have achieved good results for five consecutive years. This year's festival invited Mao Xiaowen, a teacher from the School of General Education, to deliver a reading lecture on stories about China's peaceful development.

After the two lectures, both shared their reading experience and led the audience to enjoy the beauty of reading in culture and philosophy.

On the afternoon of April 23, the Graphic Information Center of Xi'an Eurasia University held the "Reading Star" Award Ceremony and the Revitalization Library Collection Ceremony at the library. Based on the number of books borrowed by teachers and students at the university, the annual "Reading Stars" were selected, so that the reading advocacy of lifelong education can be rooted in the learning of teachers and students. At the same time, the Revitalization Library, a large historical literature series, was officially housed at the library of Xi'an Eurasia University. It is all the more important for us to draw on the lessons of history, reflect on the past, look to the future and press forward. After the Revitalization Library entered Xi'an Eurasia University, teachers and students will feel the history of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in their lives, bolster confidence in and raise awareness of our own culture.

This festival advocates lifelong education and lifelong learning with brand-new reading practices and rich activities. Let education accompany people's whole life, and let reading accompany every day of their lives. This April, reading-themed activities, salon lectures, book donations, etc. will continue to appear at Xi'an Eurasia University.
