The year 2022 is the second year of our university's implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Under the guidance of the concept of "value-oriented education" and the overall strategy of "Quality! Quality! Quality!", our university focused on the six key fields of "applied talent training, local internationalization, scientific research and social services, talent projects, brand upgrading and cultural development, and digital transformation", and implemented the quality concept of "student-centered" education.

In this "year of university-enterprise cooperation", we accelerated the construction of research institutes and deep integration with industries and enterprises, and visited enterprises to provide more jobs for students and ensure high-quality employment of graduates. This year witnessed continuous reform and innovation in education and teaching, approval of the project of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, and historic breakthroughs of teachers and students in various competitions. This year, we created new cultural spaces and a high-quality teaching and living environment with culture and design to build a better campus with a happy life.

At the beginning of 2023, let's review the top 10 pieces of news that attracted the most attention from teachers and students in 2022 and recall these highlight moments.

Our university establishes six research institutes, develops strategic cooperation with Xiying Group, and continues in-depth industry-education integration and open education.

The year 2022 is our university's "year of university-enterprise cooperation". Under the annual theme of "deepening the industry-education integration and promoting open education", our university contributed to the development of industries and local economy, and carried out extensive industry-education integration, university-enterprise cooperation and university-locality collaboration. In April, our university and Xiying Group started comprehensive strategic cooperation, including in-depth cooperation in multiple business fields such as film and television talent training, media industry development, organic renewal and operation of parks, enterprise transformation and development, and improvement of organizational management capability. The two will also build an industry-university-research institute cooperation base and a professional talent training base, and accelerate the integrated development of competitive areas. In November, six research institutes were inaugurated, including Institute of Eurasia Education and Innovation, Quality Management Institute, Institute of Urban Organic Renewal, Digital Research Institute, Institute of Culture and Brand Development, and Institute of Property Research. Through diversified scientific research and social services, they further stimulate school-running vitality and contribute to our university's in-depth integration into regional economic and social development. In December, our university started the construction of five modern industrial schools of digital finance, Fosun Holiday, digital security, urban renewal, and specialized, sophisticated, distinctive and innovative technologies, and established an industry-education integration platform for the in-depth cooperation, complementary advantages and common development of our university and enterprises through innovative talent training.

The History Museum and the Museum of Design (MOD) open after upgrading to create new cultural spaces via diverse local cultural connections.

On November 24, 2022, on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the founding of our university, the History Museum and the MOD opened after two years of renovation to provide immersive experience in cultural spaces and channel energy into education. The History Museum mainly presents the general development of our university, our major events in the past 27 years, and our innovations and typical achievements in the six key fields, which not only shows the overall history of our university, but also highlights our harmony in diversity. The MOD established the China Pavilion, enriched the exhibition of the Modern Design Pavilion, and opened a theme temporary exhibition to explore the evolution of design and technology at home and abroad and the development direction of related disciplines with a richer and more complete design system. Professor Hu Jianbo, Chairman of Xi'an Eurasia University, said that the two museums will promote the coordination and integration of our university in inter-university exchanges, academic discussions, university-enterprise cooperation, and industry-education integration, and provide teachers, students and the public with a wonderful experience in education and art design.

Zhao Yide, Secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, affirms our safety management, education and teaching, and campus culture development during his visit to our university.

On November 30, 2022, Zhao Yide, Secretary of the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, visited our university for inspection. He emphasized the need to adhere to scientific and precise pandemic prevention and control, strengthen overall planning, build a barrier for pandemic prevention and control, and go all out to ensure the health of teachers and students and campus safety. He visited the South District Student Living Room, North E Teaching Building, Hongqiao Student Center, and MOD to investigate campus safety management, pandemic prevention and control, online and offline teaching, and service for life, and affirmed our efforts in campus safety management, education and teaching, and campus culture development. He said, "The Xi'an Eurasia University coordinates pandemic prevention and control, education and teaching, and campus life, builds and operates the campus with design thinking and concepts, makes the best use of limited spaces, and integrates humanistic and artistic designs into the campus to provide students with an excellent teaching, living and cultural environment."

Our first project of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools gets approved, and the first batch of students enroll in the software engineering undergraduate education program launched by our university and the Middle Tennessee State University, USA.

On April 26, 2022, the Ministry of Education announced the list of approved projects of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools in the second half of 2021, including the software engineering undergraduate education program launched by our university and the Middle Tennessee State University, USA. The approved project is our first project of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools, which further enriches the types of our international programs, and is an important milestone in our in-depth implementation of the "local internationalization" strategy. In September, 114 students of the Chinese-foreign cooperation program in software engineering started their international study tour in our university. So far, all nine schools of our university have launched international programs, with a total of four types and 18 disciplines. Our university will take the project of Chinese-foreign cooperation in running schools of software engineering as an opportunity to explore more forms and possibilities of internationalization in the development of other majors and disciplines and benefit a wider range of students.

Secretary and president visit 102 companies and bring more than 3,790 jobs to ensure high-quality employment of students.

From April to June 2022, in order to help graduates find employment smoothly, the secretary and president of our university visited plenty of employers to help students find employment, and fully mobilized all forces to strengthen university-enterprise cooperation and supply and demand matchmaking with key government resources, key enterprises, and regional key projects. These efforts created a high-quality employment environment and conditions for graduates in this critical period, helped students solve employment problems, and provided enterprises with more excellent professionals that meet their needs. During this period, heads of the university and schools visited 102 enterprises such as Huawei, Xiying, Glodon, and Cicada Technology and brought more than 3,790 jobs in total. Our university also expanded the university-enterprise cooperation ecosystem and high-quality internship and employment base, innovated the university-enterprise cooperation model and mechanism, and provided more opportunities and jobs for graduates. According to the needs of enterprises and industries, schools and majors also continued to optimize talent training programs, continuously improved students' professional ability and employment quality, and provided a higher-level and broader stage for students' future employment.

Students make historic breakthroughs in academic and sports competitions: 6 golds, 10 silvers and 15 bronzes in the provincial semi-finals of the 8th China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and championship of A-level finals of the men's basketball university group at the 17th Games of Shaanxi Province.

In 2022, our students performed well in all kinds of academic and sports competitions, made historic breakthroughs, and demonstrated their enterprising, knowledge-seeking and innovative spirit. In August, the Education Department of Shaanxi Provincial Government announced the list of winners of the 8th China International College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Shaanxi Provincial Semi-finals. Our university won 31 medals, including 6 golds, 10 silvers and 15 bronzes, hitting a record high in the total number of medals and the number of golds!

On July 29, the finals of the men's basketball university group at the 17th Games of Shaanxi Province kicked off at the Shenmu Sports Center. Our university competed with Xi'an Shiyou University for the A-level championship. After fierce competition, we secured the championship with a score of 64:55. On June 26, our men's and women's basketball teams both secured the second place of the 2nd-level league in the 2021 College Basketball League in Shaanxi Province and CUBAL Shaanxi Division Preliminaries. Among them, the men's basketball team won the runner-up in the 2nd-level league of CUBAL Shaanxi Division for two consecutive years, and the women's basketball team made another breakthrough this time after winning the third place in the 2nd-level league of CUBAL Shaanxi Division in 2020.

In 2022, our teachers and students also achieved excellent results in the 13th Yuanye Awards for Students, Academy Award of Advertising Festival of Chinese College Students 2022 Spring Solicitation, Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition, "First" National College Students Audit Elite Challenge, the 2nd China University Big Data Challenge, the 9th National Securities Investment Simulation Training Contest and other academic competitions!

According to the needs of strategic development, the School of Finance is renamed School of Finance and Data Science, the School of Marxism is established, and the School of General Education and the School of Higher Vocational Education celebrate their 10th anniversary.

In November 2022, the School of General Education and the School of Higher Vocational Education celebrated their 10th anniversary. The two schools held diversified and wonderful celebrations to summarize the past and look forward to the future. Since its establishment 10 years ago, in order to "make every learner benefit from general education for a lifetime", the School of General Education has constantly optimized the design and implementation of courses and non-curricular learning activities, and established a high-quality platform for the dissemination of general education concepts. Now it has become a representative active practitioner and successful paradigm in the reform of general education in domestic application-oriented universities. The School of Higher Vocational Education focuses on vocational education, features "modern service-orientated school running, industry-education integration, employment-oriented talent training, and multi-path student development", and establishes a new school-running model of modern service industry.

In November, the School of Finance was officially renamed as the School of Finance and Data Science, highlighting the educational characteristics of integrating finance with science and technology, and data with industries. Through the talent cultivation model and curriculum system that empower finance with science and technology and industries with data, the School aims to cultivate high-quality finance and data science professionals who can meet the needs of the era. In the same month, the School of Marxism was formally established to adapt to the development situation of ideological and political education in the new era, strengthen the research and construction of Marxist theoretical disciplines, and promote the establishment of a higher-level pattern of educating all students in an all-round and all-process manner.

Xi'an Eurasia University has consistently ranked first in cuaa.net's list of private universities in the field of finance and economics for nine consecutive years. Its high-quality education in business disciplines has been widely recognized by society.

On January 25, 2022, the domestic third-party university evaluation agency, cuaa.net, officially released the 2022 Cuaa. Net Chinese Universities Rankings—Guide for Filling Applications for the College Entrance Examinations. Thanks to its high-quality education, Xi'an Eurasia University has secured the top position in cuaa.net's Rankings of Private Universities in Finance and Economics for nine years running.

Since its establishment 28 years ago, Xi'an Eurasia University has adhered to the educational concept of "internationalization, application orientation, and new experience", considered quality as the lifeline of its development, and firmly practiced the "student-centered" educational philosophy. With an open-minded approach to education and innovative educational practice, it has made continuous breakthroughs and progress during its transformation and identified the development path of "expanding international visions, embracing the Chinese approach, and creating its own characteristics". Its quality of education and brand image have been consistently improving, earning high recognition from stakeholders such as students, employees, businesses, industrial counterparts, and the government.

For business studies, it now offers 15 majors in three schools: the School of Finance and Data Science, the School of Accounting, and the School of Business Administration. We have established in-depth cooperation with well-known corporations, like China Merchants Bank, Golden Education, Merit Data, Kingdee, Inspur, and SW International (ShineWing), and universities, working with them to develop professional courses and provide high-quality practical training, internship, and employment opportunities for students, and cultivate high-quality applied talent adaptable to the developing modern business society.

Xi’an Eurasia University manages to enhance its academic influence in multiple fields by holding the international higher education certification forum, business administration forums, and forums of general education of application-oriented universities.

In 2022, we strengthened our academic influence in multidisciplinary fields by organizing several academic forums focused on key topics including the teaching quality assurance of higher education, the advancement of general education in application-oriented universities, and the establishment and enhancement of a high-quality business education talent training system.

On May 13, we held the international higher education certification forum 2022 themed on Teaching Quality Assurance of Higher Education in the Post-epidemic Era from the Perspective of International Certification: Concepts and Countermeasures. Representatives from professional institutions, such as the Western Regional Council for Higher Education Accreditation, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, the British Accreditation Council, the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, and the Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association, shared their practices of academic accreditation amid the pandemic and put forward suggestions on how to ensure teaching quality in multi-modal teaching.

From May 27 to 28, the Forum on General Education in Application-oriented Universities hosted by the Alliance for University General Education and undertaken by Alliance member Xi'an Eurasia University took place online through multi-platform live streaming. Experts and scholars from 12 universities delivered keynote speeches at the forum. Additionally, experts and scholars in general education from over 50 universities participated in the event online. They shared experiences related to the development of general education in Chinese universities and explored the future developmental trajectory of general education in application-oriented universities.

From November 23 to December 2, the School of Business Administration organized a series of events focused on business education, including the Human Resources Management Forum, Digital Talent Cultivation Forum, and Culture, Sports, and Tourism Industry Forum. Experts, scholars, and industry representatives were invited to share their insights on topics, such as the advancements in business education and talent cultivation. The three forums further built consensus and explored new directions for school-enterprise cooperation through more diverse approaches. Strategic partnerships were established with multiple companies and associations on-site, creating new opportunities for promoting integration between industry and education.

Xi’an Eurasia University improves the quality of teaching and living space and completes the construction of the intelligent jogging runway and renovation of the facility connecting the North D and E buildings.

In 2022, our school continued to construct and update the campus learning and living environment to support classroom teaching reforms, school-enterprise cooperative programs, and professional practical activities and create a standardized, adaptable, versatile, and artistic teaching space environment.

In October, a 1.3-kilometer intelligent jogging runway was completed, serving as another sports facility for students and teachers to engage in exercise and participate in teaching and competitions. The intelligent jogging runway starts from the east entrance of the sports field and runs through Nanshan Road, Qingliangshan Trail, the east side road of the library, and Eurasia Avenue. It connects the main sports area, residential area, and academic area within the campus. The entire runway features varied patterns and information, enhancing the running experience with fun and youthful energy. Smart devices and electronic screens have been installed at the east entrance of the stadium to track and display running information for both teachers and students.

In December, the renovation of the facility connecting the North D and E buildings was completed. The fresh, bright, and modern environment provides students with a versatile space that caters to both leisure and learning activities. The facade of the facility features glass windows arranged at various angles and complemented by unique aesthetic treatments. This design ensures that the buildings offer a fresh visual appeal from any perspective within the campus. Large-area glass makes the facility transparent and lightweight and brings abundant natural light into the interior while offering breathtaking window views.

Student Service Center in Western Campus is also under steady construction. The main structure of the building has been built up to the 8th floor, and it is expected to be topped out by mid-2023. Student Service Center in Western Campus will be developed as a comprehensive experiential student service platform that integrates accommodation, leisure, dining, socializing, and other functions.
